With mile after mile of beautiful sand, cleansed twice a day by Atlantic surf, St. Ouen’s Bay is a spiritual home for Jersey surfers and thrill seekers of all kinds. At five miles (8km) long, there is plenty of space and facilities for everyone. St. Ouen’s Bay also boasts one of the oldest surfing clubs in Europe.
The bay has something to offer those who aren’t hardened thrill seekers too. Fire up a beach barbecue on a summer’s evening, while snapping a few memories in the heavenly, golden light that fills the bay. Or, take an awe inspiring walk along the sands themselves, arm in arm with your special someone. St. Ouen’s Bay has easy parking right along the 5-mile coastline, with laid back beach cafes and restaurants to soak in the sun, sea and surf over real Jersey food. There can be strong currents and rip tides, so be sure to swim between the safety flags and stay in areas patrolled by lifeguards.
